Heading north: how the export boom is shaking up Australia’s gas market...January 18, 2016
As shown in the linked chart, eventually three times as much gas will be exported from Queensland in the form of LNG each year as has historically been used in all of eastern Australia.
Coal Seam Gas (CSG) Research Review : University of Queensland - Centere for Coal Seam Gas
The University of Queensland’s Centre for Coal Seam Gas (CCSG) was established at the end of 2011 by UQ, QGC, Santos and Arrow Energy to conduct and coordinate research on the technical and social challenges associated with CSG. In 2014 APLNG also joined the Centre and all major CSG operators are now fully on board.
Oil and Gas Resources of Australia
This publication is the definitive reference on exploration, development and production of Australia's petroleum resources. It covers exploration, reserves, undiscovered resources, development, coalbed methane resources, crude and shale oil, production, supporting information and statistics. It includes a forecast of Australia's crude oil and condensate production up to the year 2025 and sustainability indicators for petroleum resources.
Underground coal gasification - gas to liquids, Australia's pathway to liquid hydrocarbon independence and export dominance
Coalbed methane is commonly known as coal seam gas CSG in Queensland and as coal seam methane CSM in New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia.

Underground Coal Gasification – A clean indigenous energy option
UCG is a gasification technology that is well placed to meet high environmental emission standards and to provide lower cost carbon capture from the pre-combustion, high pressure gas which reaches the surface from deep coal seams.

Australian CSG-UCG - January 2009.pdf
In recent years, Queensland has cultivated a coal-seam gas (CSG) industry, developing a few of the fastest growing companies on the ASX, such as Queensland Gas Corporation and Arrow Energy. Syngas (synthetic gas) production via underground coal-seam gasification (UCG) is an emerging method of extracting gas from coal-seams and is increasing competition for reserves in the region. As licences are granted and petroleum, gas and various mineral resources are acquired by companies, the issue of overlapping tenements becomes more apparent.

International Gas -Russian and Ukraine - January 2009.pdf
In recent years, Russia has become one of Europe’s largest energy sources, largely through the supply of natural gas, which is used for electricity-production, heating and in industry. This natural gas is supplied to Europe through a vast network of gas pipelines which run out of Russia from the Baltic Sea in the north to the Caspian Sea in the south, spreading out across first Eastern then Western Europe. This network is critical to both Russia and Europe to ensure that the natural gas can be supplied quickly and efficiently from the supplier to the market. Due to the geographical layout of Europe though, many nations in Eastern Europe especially are not only clients of Russian gas, but are also required to permit gas to transit through their territory to other client nations.
